Here in the United States, we are coming up on a couple of patriotic holidays: Memorial Day, when we remember those members of the armed forces who died while serving the country, and the 4th of July, when we celebrate our independence as a nation. This means it will be flag and bunting season around here, and lots of people will be decorating inside their homes as well. There's something bright and cheerful about the colors red, white and blue; and they seem to sing about summer.
The beauty of seasonal decorating is that you can select one spot in your home for artwork that represents the current season or a current event, from Easter to Halloween to Christmas, from a birthday to a wedding to a baby shower. It's a fun and easy way to change and brighten your space without undertaking a massive re-do.
Decorating with red, white, and blue for summer keeps you covered for the major holidays (Memorial Day, 4th of July, and even Labor Day), though if you'd rather do something else for Father's Day, a wedding, or another special event, this is your permission to go for it!
